Brightsource bucks the recession – with another year of exceptional growth
Audited accounts for 2008 reveal another year of successful trading for DM print management specialist Brightsource. Turnover hit £31.1m, a 27% increase on 2007, and gross profit was also up 37% year on year at £3.1m. These impressive results continue an upward trend that the company has enjoyed since its inception 7 years ago.
With business in the first quarter of 2009 exceeding forecast and the successful opening of a London office at the beginning of the year, MD Peter Frings is facing 2009 with confidence and optimism. “Print management companies prosper or decline depending on whether clients perceive them as adding value", argues Frings. “Cost reduction is undoubtedly one way of doing this and, in a recession, this will become even more of a given. But clients are increasingly looking for partners than can help them solve a much wider range of business problems". Innovative new service offerings, including the development of their own postal management service, the introduction of in-house data management and document composition services and most recently the launch of a bespoke carbon footprinting software programme, have delighted clients and contributed to Brightsource’s continuing success. Frings added “The company will continue to innovate and develop new services in 2009, ensuring that we build on our position as the leading specialist print management company for direct marketing campaigns".
