Brightsource

Peter Frings, Managing Director
pfrings@brightsource.co.uk

After graduating from Exeter University with a degree in Biology and Ecology, Peter joined the print industry in 1979. One of his early achievements was to help pioneer the first direct entry systems linking PCs to CRT typesetting machines... in the days when an Apple IIe sported a sticker saying 'now with 48k memory'!

Since then, he has worked for a print company, a trade repro house and several creative agencies, before launching Target Direct Print in January 2002. The company (now rebranded Brightsource) has forged a reputation for innovation – developing new formats with specialist suppliers, as the first print management company to introduce ISO 12647 print and proofing standards, and more recently as the first print management company to launch its own downstream access postal service, specifically designed for marketing mail.

Peter has an MBA from Bath University where he pursued a special interest in supply strategy. He speaks regularly at UK trade conferences, such as The Mail Show, Institute of Fundraising Convention, as well as PIRA International conferences across Europe.
